Mystery
The mist lay heavily on the land as darkness begins to fall.
Sounds are muffled shadows dulled.
She walks as if floating instead of treading the ground.
What awaits her ahead; who draws her to come?
She moves on in mystical anticipation.
She left the manor house in agitation.
As she moves farther into the night,
she senses warmth; peace flows over her
love has overtaken her.

Why Education
Why is education coming under attack? Money is being cut from education that should not be cut and schools are closing. The administration of school corporations are now crowding more children into a classroom, many of which need more attention. Questions arrise about who is at fault. Is is the federal government, the state, or is it the schools themselves? I suggest that all three are a fault. Yes, the economy crisis the United States is experiencing (yes, many are still in crisis) hits all areas, but education should be one of the last areas to suffer such losses. We in education are willing to take salary cuts if everyone in education is willing to do so, such as those in administration from the top down. The education of our future generations is vital to the survival of society, its growth and health. Cutting 300 millions dollars out of education is not the answer.

Long Shadows
Shadows are getting longer; the day a bit shorter. Mornings are dusted at times with a tinge of frost. Sun streams through the blue-gray clouds by day, warming the earth for a moment. The yellow and brown hue of the leaves dominate the visual senses, and the earthy/spicey sent wafts through the crisp air. Then the sun drops behind the horizon leaving golden rays to bath the treeline. No longer are the sounds of summer, the crickets, the frogs and night birds heard. They too know autumn days and nights are upon us. The season that sometimes seems the shortest, but one that stimulates the senses in every way. Drink it in, drink it all in and let it fill to inebriation.

What is a dreamer
A dreamer dreams all sorts of things
saving the world from hunger...............
bringing joy to chase the sadness away................
finding a scientific discovery..........................
holding a lonely child.................................
finding that one true love......................and holding it forever.

life is a cycle
All life is a cycle--a beginning, an ending. I see a tree, it's shape, it's grandeur, it's purpose. I see it's beginning and I witness it's ending. All life has purpose. I have a purpose, you have purpose. we had a beginning, we will have an end. It's for a purpose we live, the purpose or destiny that we fulfill. Life without purpose is meaningless. Sorrows and pleasures in life are only the part of the pathway of the purpose for which we are destined. riches and fame, poverty and obscurity come and go within this purpose or destiny, but they are not the purpose for which we live. They are mere experiences; things that happen along the way. If I do not seek riches and fame or run from poverty and obscurity, I may learn from the cycle, because chaance and opportunity bring both into the life cycle. Peace comes when we understand this cycle. Our vision clears and our purpose is revealed.
I think I got this from Siddhartha by Herman Hess, but I don't have the book here to prove it.

thinking
Sometimes as I'm walking among a throng of people, say, at an event or festival, I suddenly feel totally apart or separate--looking at those around me as if I were not there, but invisible. I watch them as they, the whole, small groups or couples move about. I listen to the words they say; watch the actions they take. Then I wonder--do they know what they are doing; what they are saying? Who are these people? Is their world so small? Do they realize they are part of a bigger scheme--plan? Do they see each other as they pass? I walk by one mother scolding her child or children for misbehaving and then pass by parents explaining to their children the reason a ball seems to float in mid air is due to wind blowing upward from beneath it. I look on at an older couple lovingly holding hands as they quietly meander along a path. Another couple walks three feet apart, then look at each other and disappear down separate ways. Human beings with so much potential....do they realize it or does it go untapped? What if we could see ourselves as we look at others? Would we like what we see; would we want to change what we see?
